Binary sword
Type: Melee
Used by: Hank, Jesus, Phobos
Kill(s): 3 (46 non-canon)
Appearances

The binary sword has been Jesus' signature melee weapon ever since Madness Combat 3: Avenger.

It has the numbers 100111100 inscribed on the blade, which when translated from binary to decimal gives '316'. This is a reference to the well-quoted and famous bible verse John 3:16, which states:

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only son*. That who ever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life."

Jesus first used the sword in Madness Combat 3: Avenger To impale Hank; the binary numbers are absent in this episode. In Madness Combat 4: Apotheosis the sword appeared in the introduction and at the very end, this time with the numbers inscribed. It reappeared in Madness Combat 5: Depredation as Jebus' main weapon against Hank. The sword returned in Madness Combat 7: Consternation with a redesign, used by Jebus to execute Hank and Tricky near the end of the episode. Its last appearance was in Madness Combat 8: Inundation, before Jebus was blasted by the Auditor's AT4.

In the non-canon animation Incident: 110A, the binary sword is Jesus' main weapon and used throughout the episode. It was shown to be so powerful that at one point, it sliced through an A.T.P. soldat's L337 sword.

It is also a usable weapon in Madness: Project Nexus (Classic). It is the most powerful melee weapon available. In the last level in Episode One of the Story Mode, it can be found as a hidden weapon in a safe in the first room containing the terminals which drop the spikes. As of the 1.5 update, there is a medal for finding it. In Episode 1.5 of the Story Mode, the sword was wielded by Phobos during both battles against Dr. Christoff. Jebus implicitly obtained it after destroying Phobos.

The binary sword appears in MADNESS: Project Nexus, being wielded by Jebediah Christoff once again. During the stage Seeking Asylum, the sword is broken in half by Hank during his fight with Christoff, becoming the Binary Shard. Despite this, the broken blade is still used by Christoff. The binary sword can also be used in Arena Mode, being sold by Dr. Crackpot for 2 Boons Tokens.
