A clamp is a tool used to grip objects in order to to prevent them from moving or to apply pressure. Clamps can be used on a variety of items, including wood, jars, or hoses. The specific clamp used appears to be a spring clamp modified to have an additional grip so that it can be used as a more effective bludgeon; appearing to look similar to a stapler.
