Terminals are stations varying in size that have been seen several times in the Madness Combat series, primarily in Madness: Project Nexus (Classic). They are used to control certain objects such as doors, spike gates, or other equipment and technologies.
Madness: Project Nexus (Classic)[]
In Madness: Project Nexus (Classic), terminals are frequently used throughout levels in order to progress through areas by lowering spike gates or unlocking doors. For example, in level [1-H], each floor has an individual terminal that controls a spike gate in front of each staircase leading downwards. In level [1.5-B], the player must locate Dr. Hofnarr in order to activate a high-clearance terminal. In level [1.5-C], two terminals must be activated in order to lower two spike gates that impede the player's path.
