Appearances

The iron knife, also referred to as dagger, is the first melee weapon to appear in the Madness series. In the first episode, it was thrown by Hank to kill an enemy. The knife was also seen in Madness Combat 2: Redeemer and Madness Combat 3: Avenger.
The weapon later appears in Madness Combat 9.5 part 1, where it was being used as a secondary weapon by a soldat. Hank managed to disarm and kill the soldat, but was disarmed himself by a retainer - making him lose the knife. In part 2 an iron knife appeared in the hands of an engineer. Hank stole the engineer's knife and killed him by stabbing him in the head through the visor, after doing a spinning jump. Later the knife appears in Madness Combat 11: Expurgation, being used by some of Tricky's Skeletons

In Madness Combat 9.5 part 2 a new design variant of the Iron Knife makes its debut. It appeared in said episode, and later in Madness Combat 12: Contravention. In both animations it appears alongside its base variant. The Iron sword also received an alternative design, identical to this one.

The iron knife also appears in the Incidents. In Incident: 011A Rich used an iron knife to stab Mag Agent: Torture in the head. Deimos used one in the beginning of Incident: 100A to stealthily kill a l33t agent.

It is also a usable weapon in Madness: Project Nexus (Classic), only slightly stronger than the switchblade.

Trivia[]

  • In Madness Combat 11: Expurgation, during the earlier parts of the episode, the knife still uses its older sprite, but later on it gets a new, redrawn sprite. It is the only instance so far, where a weapon gets its sprite modernised not between episodes, but during one.
    • An iron knife that gets dropped by a Skeleton at 4:22 uses its old sprite, but when the area is seen again at 6:01 shortly before Hank's return, this same knife is using the new sprite.
