The MERC Light Rifle is a crude mass-produced Rifle manufactured by MERC. It is a small-capacity fully automatic 9x19mm "rifle" that frequently shows up being used by many of MERC's units. Due to its extremely low damage output and very small capacity for a rifle, it is often considered by many to be one of the worst weapons in that category and is very quickly discarded for much better gear.
In Story Mode, the L Rifle shows up most commonly during the Industrial Sector's levels wielded by Recruits and Laborers. It is also notable for being one of Victor's starting weapons when playing with 4 players. It also frequently shows up in containers.
In Arena Mode, this weapon is one of the first guns in the rifle category to be unlocked after completing Pilot Episode, where it can be bought after the introduction to the Quartermaster. It is worth noting that both the Retro and new variants of the rifle have different stats.
Trivia[]
- Much like the MERC Heavy Rifle, the Light Rifle Retro cannot equip Accelerators or suppressors while it's new variant can.
- Despite being labelled and categorized as a Rifle, the weapon functions more akin to that of a Submachine gun.
