PSA: Piracy is a non-canon gag animation made by Krinkels released on May 15, 2020.

Plot[]

The film begins in a small room, where a cybercriminal is conducting digital piracy on the Internet. The offender invites a nearby bystander to partake in illegally downloading music (the bystander said it was made by the Foo Fighters), who foolishly accepts and makes themselves an accomplice in their criminal activities.

A federal agent, played by guest star Hank J. Wimbleton, suddenly barges into the room and destroys their illegal setup while screaming, the two pirates reside in and the agent nobly apprehends them for copyright infringement, stammering for a moment while doing so. The malicious accomplice attempts to resist arrest, prompting the agent to quickly neutralize the suspect in self-defense via violently plunging them into the ceiling before proceeding to take the remaining cybercriminal into custody in a brave act of heroism by our noble police force.

The aesop of the educational film,

"Pay for Music, Never Illegally Download",

is conveyed while Hank can be seen applying legal punishments to the remaining cybercriminal for their wrongdoings, permanently ensuring that they will never pirate again.

Transcript[]

The audio is a direct rip from another YouTube video, "Never Illegally Download":

  • Cybercriminal: Uhh, Hey! Come look at this site!
  • Bystander: Ah, cool! Can you download "The Foo Fighters"?
  • Cybercriminal: Uhh, yeah. Hold on.
  • [Hank {dressed as a police officer} busts in, holding a clamp, knocking the table all the way to the end of the room. His bust-in also sends the bystander to the ceiling.]
  • Hank: [unintelligible screams {Could be saying, "That's enough, show me your hands!}]
  • Cybercriminal: "What did I do?"
  • Hank: [stammering] You know it's illegal to download c-copyrighted music. I'm taking you in.
  • Bystander: Uh!...
  • [The bystander seems to attempt to stop Hank from grabbing on to the cybercriminal]
  • Hank: [more inaudible screams {Could be saying, "Lights out!"} as he mashes the bystander against the ceiling, killing them, then grabs the cybercriminal and leaves the room]
  • [Scene cuts to a black background, where Hank bashes the cybercriminal's body with a hammer as he struggles while a presumably female voice says "Pay for music, never illegally download."]

Trivia[]

  • This short marks the first time Hank J. Wimbleton has been officially depicted as audibly speaking.
  • This is the first-ever animation to play over a video.
  • In the original video, the bystander is a female and the cybercriminal is a male. Technically, this is the first Krinkels-made Madness animation to feature a female character.
  • This is the first video where the grunts have a mouth, aka a slit through the head.
  • This video is described as a โ€œShitpost."
  • P.S.A means Public Service Announcement.
